Director of Content Strategy
- Rocks the nuclear family unit
- Brews palatable beer
- Still reads Judy Blume
David earned a BA in English from University of Central Florida and an MFA in Creative Writing from Old Dominion University. In a previous life, David taught special education in Richmond and composition and literature classes at ODU. Before coming to Unboxed, he worked in the shipping industry and specialized in export client services. David writes stories in the wee hours of the morning. In 2010, he won the Virginia Screenwriting Competition for an original feature-length script. His fiction has appeared in a handful of journals including Prism Review and Fiddleblack.
David’s lovely wife and charming children have turned him into a real-life grown-up, and his writing has come a long way since the delightfully unreadable work he composed as a four-year-old. His more recent output showcases a mastery of craft, style, and, most notably, real words and complete sentences. David manages to keep his inner writerly curmudgeon restrained to the solitary pre-dawn time of the day where he belongs. During the waking hours, David is a generous and compassionate worker. He values relationships with both colleagues and clients and seizes every chance to pepper conversation with his dry wit and overdeveloped sense of humor (for better or worse).
